AGRONOMY NEWSLETTER
from the desk of Steve Leipprandt
- GRID SAMPLE/VARIABLE RATE APPILCATION:
Call us for more details on how precision technology can help to increase your production efficiency.
- PLANT TISSUE TESTING:
We are seeing an increased interest in using plant tissue analysis as a tool to help maximize return in field crops and vegetables. Please contact us for more information including proper timing and sampling procedures. Samples may be submitted at the Vriesland Agronomy office.
- WESTERN BEAN CUTWORM:
Again we are monitoring western bean cutworm adults locally with pheromone traps. Western Bean Cutworm larvae are quickly becoming an established pest of corn in our area and throughout the Midwest. The damage associated with WBC is aggressive ear feeding that reduces grain yield and quality. Corn hybrids with Herculex trait have very good resistance to this pest.
- HAVE A SAFE GROWING SEASON:
Remember to review safe operating procedures with your family and employees.
Thank you for your business, we value the opportunity to work with you.
